There are times when I open my wardrobe to search for a cloth to wear to the office but amongst many piles of clothes hanging all around me, I might not find a suitable one to wear for that day and sometimes, it really takes a lot of time. A wardrobe full of clothes but nothing to wear! If this sounds familiar, both your closet and your style sense need a shakedown
The good thing is, wherever there is a problem, the solution might not be so farfetched. If at some point in your life, you have felt totally frustrated staring into a closet full of clothes unable to find a single thing you want to wear. If you are one of the lucky ones, this doesn’t happen often to you. However, if this is an ongoing problem you encounter, there is a way to change it.
It is sometimes said that the problem of having lots of clothes, none of which are suitable to wear can be traced to bad shopping habits. When you shop for clothes spontaneously and impulsively without proper thought, your closet becomes a place of confusion. This is a predicament that continues to build unless dysfunctional shopping habits are replaced with well-organized routines.
Let me say this that it is important to have in in mind that as soon as you change the way you shop, your closet changes too. Therefore, the remedy to this frustrating situation begins by removing everything from your closet. It takes a lot of strength so, you might want to do it when you are not busy on that day. Then, separate the clothes according to priorities. Dispose those that you like very much but must just go. Those that you have not worn despite that they are as lovely as lovely can be, you should just let them go. The chances that you might never wear them are very high. Then leave clothing you like and look good on you and items that need something to go with them to complete an outfit. There is more than one way to organize a closet; however, the most popular way is by garment—a separate section for suits, pants, jackets, skirts and shirts. Hang ties on horizontal tie racks where they are easy to see. Put accessories in a place that is visible. Organize sweaters, knit shirts and jeans on shelves or store them in containers at the top of your closet. The clothes will go back in your closet arranged in such a way that you can tell which corner of the wardrobe they will be.
Once you have done that, ensure the wears that involve combining two or more pieces are well positioned. You can even put them together to make easy for selection whenever you need to. Take for example, your iro and buba and gele, they can be placed together, your suit can be with the shirt that blends with it.
The same method applies to your accessoriesie, your glasses, beads, jewelry, hats, shoes and bags,. You have to take into consideration the colours to make it easier, you can group them into sets or even subsets, depending on the room you have to play with.
When that is done, it is then safe to look at what is missing in the wardrobe to complete an outfit. The next step will be where to shop. Plan your shopping well such that you have items that fit well together and are easily seen. So, shop in places where you can carefully pick your money’s worth.
