Her Excellency, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed is an epitome of Values, renowned for her compassion and passionate urge to affect positively everybody and everything she has an opportunity to come across. Her disciplined disposition, focused mindset, strength of character and attention to details that enthuse people who meet her is legendary.
Her Excellency, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed who hails from the ancient city of Ibadan, was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Adebayo Akinleye on the 30thof December a couple of decades ago. Drawing from her experience as a young Nigerian who saw people in need and indigence at close quarters, she considers her life and the opportunity of her position of the wife of a Governor a privilege and a unique opportunity to positively affect lives.
She started her education at the University of Ibadan Staff School and later proceeded to Victory Nursery and Primary School where she obtained her Primary School Leaving Certificate. Her Secondary School education was at the Prestigious Saint Theresa’s College, Ibadan where she obtained Secondary School Certificate with good grades in 1983.
She then advanced to Kwara State Polytechnic where she obtained an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Banking & Finance in 1992, before obtaining a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Banking & Finance from the Kano State Polytechnic in 1997. During her one-year stint as a National Youth Service Corp member between 1997 and 1998, she served at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kano, where most of those who met her still relish her dedication and diligence.
Her strong thirst for knowledge also saw her at the esteemed Bayero University, Kano in 1999, where she obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking & Finance.
Her Excellency, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed has always made a success of every endeavour she has ventured into; her knack for success has grown her dream of being a successful Entrepreneur into a Conglomerate, through Cabes Trading and Marketing Limited, a business concern with vast interest in Catering, Events Management and Commodity Trading.
The compassionate Amazon has also displayed her Midas touch in her Social Service work, which she anchors on the Life Empowered Anchors Hope Charity Foundation (LEAH).
At the inception of the present administration in May 2011, Her Excellency further broadened the Foundation’s horizon with the provision of services to the grassroots as her pet project collaborating with Leah Charity Foundation to touch lives with great passion in what she says, it’s about SHE; Social Welfare, Health and Education.
Through this multi-dimensional action, Her Excellency, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed fights Maternal and Infant Mortality, Gender Discrimination; unemployment, extreme Poverty, Illiteracy and provide succor for people challenged by their Health condition.
Her Excellency’s efforts have no doubt brought succor to many lives, and the people have shown sincere appreciation with the various encomiums and Awards showered on her.
Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed is a recipient of the Gratitude for Vision towards Development of African Culture and Youth Empowerment from Black Culture and Arts Foundation (BCAA), Honorary Membership (in recognition of her contribution to Lionism & Humanitarian Services) Ilorin Central Lion’s Club.
She is also a recipient of the Christ Ambassador Award of the Women Wing of CAN (WOWICAN); Grand Matron of Drug Free Club of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA); distinguished Honorary Fellowship Award from the Kwara State College of Education, Oro.
Considered an Amazon among the women folk, she has been honoured with the Yeye Oge (Merit Award) by the Nigerian Association of Hairdressers & Cosmetologists & Barbers (NASHCOB). She is the Grand Patron, Society of Women in Taxation (SWIT) and Grand Matron cum the conferment of an Award of Excellence by the Hope Foundation (Women Wing) Kwara South Senatorial District.
Her Excellency is at home with the Youth and this no doubt is reflected by the conferment of the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) Federal Polytechnic Offa Chapter Honourary Award, just as she holds the Life Patron Award of the MAN ‘O’ WAR Nigeria, Kwara State Command.
Her Excellency is a Cultural enthusiast, an ardent respecter of customs and a protector of moral and traditional values, which has been recognized and honoured with several chieftaincy titles such as the Yeye Otunba of Igbaja Land, Yeye Otunba of Ira and the Yeye Atunluse of Babanla amongst several others.
Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed believes God has raised her for this generation and that her present position is a privilege. Her vision is to accomplish this mission through Leah Charity Foundation under God’s banner by contributing in her own way her quota towards effectively and sincerely sharing the prosperity of the state and touch more lives through-out her lifetime.
The Leah Charity Foundation is a Non-Governmental, Non-Religious, and Non-Partisan, Not for Profit Organisation, established to sincerely and strategically address the development challenges synonymous with the developing societies of the World.
The establishment of Leah Charity Foundation was inspired by our Founding Trustee’s experiences with people challenged by their stations in life and the strong conviction that Life Empowered Anchors Hope from which the acronym LEAH was coined.
Leah Charity Foundation’s fight against underdevelopment based on its SHE Model, which translates to Social Welfare, Health and Education is driven by the belief that the world can be a better place if every stakeholder contributes in the struggle to eradicate the development deficits confronting the world.
Armed with the vision of becoming the reference point in social work in Nigeria and beyond, LEAH Charity Foundation has since its establishment been able to make a lot of difference in its key areas of interest and in reference to its vision and projection plans to do more.
LEAH Charity Foundation has launched the Adopt-A-Child Initiative at Alalubosa L.G.E.A. Primary School in Ilorin East Local Government of Kwara State. LEAH Charity Foundation through the Adopt-a-child Initiative supported 40 children, between the ages of 4 years and 12 years old, who were identified as vulnerable, in difficult economic circumstances, and underprivileged and who needed critical support to remain and flourish in pre-school and primary.
Two children of the blind woman that was empowered with the deep freezer and generator have just been enlisted into the LEAH Charity Foundation’s Adopt-a-Child Initiative. The children who have just been admitted into Baboko LGEA Primary School were provided with basic school materials including but not limited to desks, school uniforms, water bottles, footwear, school bags, cardigans and sportwear. A young boy, aged 10 years old who is suffering from paralysis and stunted growth was presented with a wheel chair to aid his locomotion. LEAH Charity Foundation also enlisted him as a beneficiary of the LEAH Adopt-a-Child Programme since his only caregivers are his aged grandfather and his unemployed aunt.
