Desmond Mpilo Tutu is widely regarded as South Africa’s moral conscience and has been described by former President of Nelson Mandela, as sometimes strident, often tender, never afraid and seldom without humor, Demond Tutu’s voice has always been the voice of the voiceless since his retirement he has worked to critique the New South African government. He has been vocal in condemnation of corruption.

The Noble Prize awards committee has consistently recognized these peacemakers, as well as the saintly figures of this world, like mother Theresa.

The demise of President John Atta mills of Ghana on July 24, 2012 no doubt hit the Global community like a thunderbolt. This was perhaps on account of what the deceased leader represents not only to Ghana and Africa but the International community as a whole. The passing on of Atta Mills was indeed a time of grief for Ghanaians and the International community due to the impeccable track record of Achievement he set. Despite global economic and financial meltdown, mills administration had left marked improvement in the economic and political fortunes of Ghana estimated 22 million people, a development that was noticed when United States President Barrack Obama chose Ghana as one of the African countries to visit during his first year in office. As Atta Mills is no more, the ECOWAS and the opinion of world leaders, observes and political analysts is that he should be immortalized as to demonstrate commitment to democracy and good governance he fought for.

It is hope that those now saddled with the affairs of piloting the nation’s ship of state would emulate the sterling leadership qualities and democratic credentials of Atta Mills.
